Alibag is a coastal town and municipal council in Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. It is the headquarters of the Raigad district. Revdanda, Chaul, Nagaon, Akshi, Varsoli, Thal, Navgaon, Kihim, and Aawas villages were known as "Ashtagare".
Kolaba Fort is located at the distance of around 1 km from the Alibaug Beach in the coastal town of Alibaug. This sea fort was constructed by Maratha warrior, Shivaji Maharaj, which has 25 ft high, 350 ft wide and 900 ft long walls.
Ferry service between Mandwa and Gateway of India, Mumbai. They run at a frequency of an hour throughout the year from morning 6 to evening6, except during monsoon. One can reach Alibag by catamaran through Gateway of India to Mandwa or from Bhaucha Dhakka to Rewas and from Mandwa/Rewas to Alibag by bus.
Best Time to visit:-
Between November and March is the best time to visit Alibaug. The sun's not too harsh and you'll be able to enjoy the beaches. However, the pleasant weather also means crowds of visitors everywhere and more expensive accommodation. Summers in Alibaug, from March until July, are hot and humid.
