Shiroda beach is the ideal holiday spot if you wish to just relax amidst the abundant bounty of nature in total tranquility. The beach forms a significant part of Shiroda Village, which belongs to Vengurla Taluka of Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra. It is about 20 kms from the city of Vengurla towards the south of Konkan shores. Shiroda has a prominent place in Indian history, as Mahatma Gandhi’s Salt Satyagraha took place here.
Shiroda beach with hundreds of palm trees and clear water is in itself one of the major attractions. Terekhol Fort located on a huge hill on the seashore is another place worth visiting for its stunning beauty. Redi Ganesh Mandir is also quite popular, as the idol of Lord Ganesh was discovered from Redi mines.
Shiroda village is surrounded by several famous temples like Garudi, Sateri, Badrakali and Kulkar. You should set a date with Vengurla too, as it is renowned for the off-coast rocks (Brent Rocks) that are popularly called ‘bandara’ by the locals.
Best Time to visit:-
Best time to visit Shiroda beach is between October and March, as this is when you will not experience rain, storm, or the scorching sun. However, at times, even March may get scorching, which is why it’s best to plan before summer arrives.
